Venues + Events Live, the award-winning exhibition from SquareMeal, has reported a total attendance of almost 7,000 (DPA audit pending), during its twelfth show which took place on 20th & 21st September 2017 at Old Billingsgate. Both visitors and exhibitors alike are calling the 2017 exhibition ‘the best show yet’.
“Lots of leads, so I’m really pleased”
First-time exhibitor Rowan Kitching of London City Selection said “Very impressed with the turn out, from both visitors and fellow exhibitors. To raise the profile of the brand and see it stood side by side with other fantastic industry organisations was a very proud moment for us and our members. We had quality buyers visit our stand, 250 of which were new contact leads. A brilliant result of our first time.”
James Varah from The Brewery said, “It was a positive experience, and reminded me why we have come back year after year. Nothing beats that opportunity to chat to buyers face to face.”
Show Manager, Hannah Walley said “We’ve had incredible feedback from both long-standing exhibitors and those new to exhibiting at Venues + Events Live this year, on both the quality of attendees and quality of enquiries received over the two days. In addition, we had some fantastic new partnerships for the show this year which meant the venue looked stunning and provided a great backdrop for market-leading speaker content, workshops and exhibitors.”
Content to educate and inspire
With over 60 CPD-accredited SquareMeal Sessions, masterclasses and workshops, the exhibition saw a record number of features and a diverse range of speakers split across the two days. Keynote speakers included the likes of celebrity chefs Raymond Blanc OBE and Gennaro Contaldo, as well as A-list party planner, Fran Cutler. Visitors learned a range of new skills including calligraphy, chocolate making, speaking skills, sushi, canapé making and stress-relief strategies.
Rachel Harty, Head of Marketing & Events at SquareMeal: “The content at this year’s show really exemplified how Venues + Events has evolved as a show, by not only allowing visitors to connect with hundreds of incredible venues and suppliers, but also pick up knowledge and skills that will enable them to be better at their job. The CPD-accredited SquareMeal Sessions, workshops and masterclasses were busier than ever, with a really diverse variety of speakers and skills on offer.”
